The Motus Way:
Our care is rooted in chiropractic, physical therapy, and strength training principles. We believe in the practice of blending philosophies of care to ensure successful treatment plans. This foundational approach allows us to continually augment care throughout one's journey, guaranteeing effective treatment suited to each patient's needs.
The philosophies and disciplines we draw from include but are not limited to: Diversified Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (spinal and extremity); Drop Table Technique; McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy®; Active Release Techniques; Cupping Therapy, Graston, and other IASTM Techniques; therapeutic and corrective exercise; barbell & kettlebell rehab; and yoga.
Our goal, always, is to widen the gap between pain and function, thereby enhancing your resilience.
Dr. Stephens is an Airforce brat and lifelong dancer. She has been a practicing sports chiropractor in the Bay Area since 2010 and has worked her entire career in interdisciplinary settings. Both in private clinics and in hospitals, Lindsay has assisted surgeries and outpatient procedures; she’s also logged hundreds of hours in orthopedics, neurology, pain management, radiology, and OB/GYN departments. In August of 2016, she opened Motus Wellfulness Clinic after recognizing the need for a more compassionate integrative healthcare clinic. She enjoys working with patients at every stage of healing, always with the mission of empowering those in her care with the knowledge they need to affect long-term changes in their lives.
Injured or in pain? Let us help you!
Motus Wellfulness Clinic is an out-of-network clinic that works with an upfront payment model. As clinicians passionate about providing the highest level of care, we’ve made the purposeful decision not to participate with health insurance programs. Doing so would make it exponentially more challenging for us to serve you; this is due to administrative overhead costs and claims processing times, along with the exhaustive disadvantages to a volume-based care model. Our goal is transparency: with us, what you see is what you get. If you have chiropractic and/or physical therapy insurance coverage, you can possibly receive reimbursement for your rehabilitation. We also accept Medical Reimbursement Account (MRA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Health Savings Account (HSA) funds as methods of payment.
During this initial session, we take a complete history, perform a detailed physical exam, and assess specific functioning based on your present condition. From there we design a customized integrated therapeutic program for you.
These sessions are 40 minutes long and focus on assessing improvement and refining your therapeutic program. This includes exercise progression, reviewing diagnostic studies, and considering additional treatment options. Video visits are also offered for intermittent check-ins when coming to the office isn’t possible.
